Structured Literacy Intervention with Into Words Therapy
-
Structured Literacy Intervention
Into Words Therapy provides structured literacy intervention using principles from the science of reading. Each client moves through therapy with an individualized scope and sequence designed to meet them where they are and help them reach their goals.
-
Multisensory Instruction
As a speech-language pathologist trained in multiple reading approaches, including Orton Gillingham, Maggie employs multi sensory instruction in all of her sessions. For example, clients say the sound/letter name, hear the sound/letter name, see the written letter(s), and write the letter(s). Multisensory instruction triggers the activation of memory to support your child’s learning.

SLPs Offer Unique Perspective on Literacy
SLPs have a strong understanding of the intersection of speech sounds, oral language, and written language. We understand how which speech sound disorders put children at risk for reading difficulties, and we understand how morphology (grammar rules like plurals) and syntax (sentence structure) relate to reading and writing. We also have extensive training and practice in evaluating spoken and written communication skills and creating individualized treatment plans for client success. Together, these skills allow SLPs to provide the comprehensive intervention for your child.
